Propõe-se um mapeamento geológico de sub-superfície, envolvendo as formações responsáveis pelo suporte das edificações de São Carlos. Foi baseado em Sondagens de Simples Reconhecimento associadas ao conhecimento das características litológicas das formações geológicas. A partir dessas sondagens e de resultados de ensaios de laboratório, são apresentadas algumas das características geotécnicas das formações.

The objective of this work is to propose a subsurface geological map for the foundation soils of the São Carlos buildings, based on both Standard Penetration Test and the knowledge of the lithological characteristics of the formations. Some geotechnical features of the formation, obtained from analyses of SPT and laboratory test data, are also presented.
